We are looking for a Controller to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced accounting leader to oversee the full accounting function and play a key role in financial decision-making, in a hybrid role based in Cleveland, OH.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end and year-end close
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Manage the annual audit process and serve as primary liaison with external auditors
- Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls across the accounting function
- Oversee cash management, banking relationships, and treasury-related activities
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals
- Ensure compliance with tax filings and regulatory reporting requirements
- Evaluate and improve accounting systems, processes, and reporting tools
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit processes
- Experience managing and developing accounting teams
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional teams
