About the Role
We're looking for a Controller to own the financial operations of the business. This is a hands-on role with direct access to the President. You'll be responsible for the full accounting function while also partnering closely on FP&A, reporting, and financial decision-making. You'll work alongside HR/People Operations on compensation planning, headcount budgeting, and benefits cost management. This isn't a role where you manage a team and review work. You're doing the work, and doing it well.
What You’ll Do
You'll own the full accounting cycle from GL to month-end close to financial statements, and you'll make sure that process runs clean and on time every month. On the FP&A side, you'll build and maintain the budget and forecast, track variance, and bring financial clarity to leadership in a way that actually helps them make decisions. You'll manage cash flow, maintain financial controls, and oversee vendor and client billing including the nuances of MSP billing structures. As needed, you'll support lender and banking relationships. You'll also serve as the go-to finance partner for HR — whether that's running compensation analysis, modeling headcount costs, or helping think through benefits budgets.
What We’re Looking For
You have at least five years in accounting or finance, with two to three of those years in a controller or senior accounting capacity where you owned the close independently. You have a strong GAAP foundation and know your way around the full cycle. You can build a forecast and explain what it means to someone who isn't a numbers person. QuickBooks experience is required. You're comfortable being the only finance person in the room, because that's what this is. Experience in MSP, IT services, or professional services is a plus, as is any background in M&A support or lender reporting, though neither is required.
Compensation
$110k — $135k, commensurate with experience. Remote, full-time.
