Our client is a venture-backed healthcare company. They seek a Controller to join their remote team.
Responsibilities
- Direct the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accordance with US GAAP
- Deliver accurate, timely financial statements and reporting packages for the executive team, Board of Directors, and venture capital investors
- Build, enhance, and maintain scalable financial systems, processes, and infrastructure
- Identify manual accounting workflows and data bottlenecks, and spearhead the integration of AI tools and automation to drive efficiency across the finance function
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risk
- Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, leading the annual financial audit and ensuring a smooth, successful process
- Manage cash flow tracking, oversee banking relationships, and optimize working capital
- Coordinate tax compliance activities in partnership with external advisors
- Collaborate with department leaders to align financial processes with broader business objectives
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing accounting team as the company scales
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Open to industry, healthcare is a plus
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Excellent leadership skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- CPA required
