ROLE PURPOSE:

The Commercial Finance Controller, will partner closely with the business to drive profitable business growth, support commercial decision making, and ensure financial discipline (cost control) whilst aligning with Nordic regulatory, cultural and governance requirements

This role will be based in Denmark, and report to the Head of Finance – Northern Europe

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to assess the performance of our commercial activities. Provide insights into revenue trends, cost structures, and profitability.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor and report on actual performance against these financial targets incl. local support for financial year end closing, balance sheet management and fixed asset register.
  • Cost Control: Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost control measures to improve the division's financial efficiency.
  • Assist the Cluster Finance in conducting business analyses and participating in project initiatives
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory and accounting standards
  • Participating in Local Integrated Business Planning Process
  • Create complex financial models to assess various financial scenarios and support strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to negotiate favourable terms with suppliers
  • Contribute to tender discussions and new business development planning
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial processes and reporting to enhance efficiency and accuracy in alignment with Cluster Finance
  • Collaborate closely with HC to support with payroll cost budgeting and forecasting. Payroll processing and act as a finance point of contract for payroll cost queries from the business.

Support regional growth initiatives through ad‑hoc commercial finance analysis on strategic projects, new market opportunities, business cases, and other business‑critical activities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a controlling function within pharmaceutical or healthcare industry/FMCG.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, ACCA/CIMA or any other equivalent.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Advanced knowledge in Excel, PowerPoint, and BI tools
  • Good working knowledge of (SAP, TM1)
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen (P&L ownership experience preferred).
