Role Overview
The Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for defining, refining, and executing the company’s overarching strategic direction. This role requires a deep understanding of digital asset markets—particularly derivatives—as well as strong capabilities in business scaling, competitive positioning, and cross-functional leadership.
The CSO will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership to identify growth opportunities, optimize business models, and ensure alignment between strategic initiatives and operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic LeadershipDevelop and lead the company’s long-term strategic roadmap across products, markets, and client segments
- Translate macro trends in digital assets into actionable business strategies
- Drive strategic planning cycles and executive decision-making processes
- Market & Competitive IntelligenceAnalyze cryptocurrency derivatives markets, institutional trends, and competitive landscapes
- Identify emerging opportunities in structured products, quantitative strategies, and alpha generation
- Provide data-driven insights to guide capital allocation and resource prioritization
- Business Expansion & PartnershipsLead initiatives for market expansion in North America and internationally
- Identify, evaluate, and execute strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and ecosystem integrations
- Support institutional client acquisition strategies alongside growth and investor relations teams
- Operational AlignmentEnsure alignment between strategy, product development, trading, and risk management functions
- Collaborate with leadership across research, technology, and operations to drive execution excellence
- Establish KPIs and performance frameworks tied to strategic objectives
- Corporate DevelopmentEvaluate M&A opportunities, strategic investments, and new business lines
- Support fundraising strategy, investor communications, and long-term capital planning
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in strategy, investment management, or leadership roles within digital assets, hedge funds, or financial services
- Strong expertise in cryptocurrency markets, particularly derivatives (options, futures, structured products)
- Proven track record in strategic planning, business scaling, and execution in high-growth environments
- Deep analytical and financial modeling skills; ability to synthesize complex market data into clear strategies
- Experience working with institutional clients such as family offices, HNWIs, or asset allocators
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving industry
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in quantitative finance, trading strategy, or market microstructure
- Prior experience in a crypto-native firm, proprietary trading firm, or hedge fund
- Familiarity with regulatory environments in the U.S. and global digital asset markets
- Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field
