A privately held, multi-entity operating company is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join its senior leadership team and provide enterprise financial leadership during a period of continued evolution and growth.
This role is designed for a seasoned CFO who has already served as the top finance leader in a complex organization and is comfortable operating as a true business partner to senior leadership. The mandate goes beyond running finance: the CFO will help shape strategy, improve decision-making, and strengthen the organization’s financial foundation and team.
The Role
Reporting to the President, the CFO will lead all core financial functions, including accounting, financial planning, reporting, controls, and enterprise financial operating discipline. The role also includes responsibility for strengthening financial operating rhythm, governance, and leadership capability across the business.
This is a senior leadership role with a clear mandate to set direction, raise standards, and move the organization forward, combining strategic judgment with hands-on leadership to improve both outcomes and the organization behind them.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a close strategic partner to the President and senior leadership team
- Lead enterprise financial planning, reporting, and performance management
- Strengthen financial discipline, governance, and decision support across the organization
- Improve forecasting, visibility, and management insight
- Guide capital planning, liquidity management, and profitability initiatives
- Lead and develop a capable finance organization with clear accountability
- Support the business through change with sound judgment, clarity, and follow-through
- Partner with operations and functional leaders to ensure financial rigor, visibility, and accountability support day-to-day execution and long-term planning
- Drive forward-looking financial insight that helps leadership anticipate risks, tradeoffs, and opportunities
Ideal Background
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Prior experience as CFO or senior-most finance leader within a regulated product environment where external oversight, formal compliance frameworks, and operational controls materially influence how the business operates
- Strong foundation in accounting, controls, and financial management, with the judgment to apply it at an enterprise level
- Experience leading finance across multiple legal entities with differing operating and reporting requirements
- Comfort navigating complexity, differing requirements, and evolving structures
- Track record of elevating finance teams, strengthening structure and processes, and raising operating discipline
- Executive presence and ability to partner effectively with senior leadership
- Experience partnering with operations leaders in regulated product environments where compliance requirements, operational controls, and audit readiness meaningfully influence financial planning and decision-making
- A leadership style that combines strategic perspective with operational engagement — comfortable rolling up sleeves to diagnose issues, improve processes, and implement better ways of working
- Track record of developing finance teams through mentorship, coaching, and accountability, creating an organization where people grow and performance standards rise together
- Demonstrated ability to unify teams across entities or functions, aligning people around clear priorities, operating discipline, and shared expectations
Location
Remote (United States) with access to a major airport. Periodic travel should be expected. Longer-term location expectations will be discussed during the interview process.
