Company Description

Buraq AI Inc. is a secure, AI-driven platform delivering advanced situational awareness, operational intelligence, and decision support for humanitarian operations in conflict zones. Our mission is to protect civilians, empower humanitarian organizations, and enable rapid, informed decision-making in the world's most challenging environments. Using cutting-edge artificial intelligence, Buraq AI provides real-time data analysis, threat detection, and actionable insights to front-line teams. The platform is built on principles of security, ethics, and transparency, with a strong focus on data protection and responsible AI. Team members join a purpose-driven organization committed to saving lives, upholding humanitarian law, and driving positive global impact.

Role Description

We are seeking a founder-minded Chief Executive Officer to lead Buraq AI through its critical early growth stage. This is first and foremost a fundraising, partnership, and business-building role: the CEO's central mandate is to secure the financial backing and strategic relationships that will allow Buraq AI to scale its mission.

The CEO will own the company's capital strategy end to end — identifying and cultivating investors, donors, and grant sources; building the fundraising narrative and pitch; and closing the financing rounds needed to fund operations and hiring. In parallel, the CEO will build a network of strategic partnerships with humanitarian organizations, NGOs, multilateral agencies, technology partners, and channel partners that drive both impact and revenue.

Alongside this external focus, the CEO will set and execute the company's overall vision and strategy, lead day-to-day operations, oversee financial performance, and represent Buraq AI with key stakeholders, investors, and the public. The CEO will work closely with the founding team and board to define priorities, allocate scarce resources, manage risk, and ensure the company's activities remain aligned with its mission, values, and ethical standards — while building a high-performing, inclusive, mission-driven culture in a fully distributed environment.

Primary Responsibilities

Fundraising & Investor Relations (core focus)

  • Develop and execute the company's fundraising strategy across venture capital, angel investors, impact investors, foundations, and grant funding.
  • Build and maintain a robust investor pipeline; lead outreach, pitching, due diligence, and deal closing.
  • Craft a compelling investment narrative, pitch deck, and financial model that communicate Buraq AI's mission and commercial potential.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for investors and the board; provide transparent reporting and stewardship of capital.

Partnership Development (core focus)

  • Identify, negotiate, and close strategic partnerships with humanitarian organizations, donors, government and multilateral agencies, and technology partners.
  • Build channel and go-to-market partnerships that expand reach and generate revenue.
  • Represent Buraq AI publicly to build credibility, brand, and a partner ecosystem.

Strategy & Leadership

  • Set and communicate the company's vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap.
  • Lead and mentor a distributed, cross-functional team across product, engineering, and go-to-market.
  • Define priorities, allocate resources, and manage organizational risk.

Finance & Operations

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial performance, and responsible stewardship of resources.
  • Ensure operational excellence and scalable systems across the organization.
  • Uphold the company's commitment to ethics, data protection, and responsible AI.

Qualifications

  • Proven fundraising track record — demonstrated success raising capital from investors, donors, and/or grant sources, ideally for early-stage or mission-driven ventures.
  • Strong partnership and business development experience — building strategic relationships and closing deals, ideally in B2B, SaaS, humanitarian, or mission-driven technology sectors.
  • Strong finance skills — budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and stewardship of financial resources.
  • Proven operations management experience — overseeing cross-functional teams, processes, and systems in a growing organization.
  • Demonstrated business and strategic planning — defining and executing long-term organizational roadmaps.
  • Background in leadership roles within technology, AI, humanitarian, or security-focused organizations is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a remote, distributed environment, with strong communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to ethical technology, data protection, and responsible AI practices in sensitive operating environments.
  • Advanced degree in Business, Public Policy, International Relations, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent executive experience.

Compensation

This is a founding-stage leadership opportunity for someone motivated by mission and ownership rather than immediate cash compensation. The role is compensated through a meaningful equity stake, vesting over four years with a one-year cliff. Cash salary is deferred and will commence upon the close of the company's seed funding round, with the structure and timing to be agreed with the board. The ideal candidate is energized by the challenge of building and financing a high-impact company from the ground up and shares directly in the value they help create.
