Adecco Romania is hiring a Chief Accountant on behalf of its client, a leading international company in the coffee and tea industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the accounting function, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international reporting standards, and leading the finance team to support the company's business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the accounting department, ensuring efficient daily operations
- Oversee monthly and annual accounting activities in compliance with Romanian legislation and accounting regulations
- Prepare and review accounting reports, tax declarations, statistical reports, and financial statements in accordance with RAS and IFRS standards
- Support financial reporting and controlling processes, ensuring the accuracy of statutory and IFRS reporting
- Manage relationships with tax authorities and coordinate responses during tax inspections and audits
- Participate in internal and external audits by providing required documentation and information
- Lead, motivate, and develop the accounting team to achieve departmental objectives
- Conduct preventive reviews of accounting processes, identify risks, and implement corrective actions
- Review and recommend improvements to existing accounting policies, procedures, and workflows
Ideal Candidate:
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a multinational company
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- CECCAR and/or ACCA certification is considered an advantage
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting and taxation
- Excellent understanding of Romanian Accounting Standards (RAS) and IFRS
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills
