Capital Management and corporate finance activities are intense in the Asia Region, covering 8 different jurisdictions and Life, P&C and holding companies. The role requires understanding of insurance business and insurance accounting, and basic understanding of insurance regulation and legal matters.
Responsibilities:
Solvency and Capital
Monthly monitoring of solvency position of local Business Units (BUs), alert team members when solvency is approaching threshold (i.e. soft limits).
Update of the solvency and capital database.
Support the capital injections and debt transactions process, to have capital / sub-debt is injected timely in order to ensure local operations complies with local requirements (i.e. solvency and or liquidity requirements).
Management of the Anaplan system.
Support Financial Governance in the Liquidity Risk reporting
Support the Regional ALM process when required
Capital Management Plan
Support the Strategic Planning process on basic assessment of capital projections, ensuring alignment with Group assumptions, and on any other related requirements.
Prepare documentation for stakeholders with some degree of autonomy.
Support the preparation of the Capital and Cash deep dives meetings with Head Office.
Management of Anaplan system for capital planning
Corporate Finance
Support on Finance workstream on M&A and Bancassurance opportunities, such as with the review and analysis of the Business Plan, check on alignment with Group methodology
Support on the review and validation of valuation of participations and monitor accounting impacts such as Goodwill, impairments, etc.
Support on analysis of local BUs capital structure and capital requirements / optimization opportunities (i.e. optimization of capital employed through B/S management, interest rate hedging, simplifications of shareholding structure, etc.)
Requirements:
University graduate, major in Finance or Business Management with strong analytical background, or certification such as CFA
3-5 years working experience in Finance or similar functions, ideally with exposure to insurance industry
International experience is a plus
Basic knowledge of insurance business and operations/processes
Mature and proactive
Team player with good communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Adaptable, flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced and frequently changing business environment
Ability to manage complex situations and meet deadlines
