A Day in the Life of the Business Planning Analyst

In this role, you’ll transform raw operational data into meaningful insights that drive smarter, faster, and more cost-effective supply chain decisions. You’ll play a key role in supporting planning, procurement, and operations teams by delivering reliable analytics, improving data quality, and enabling better forecasting and inventory management. Your work will directly contribute to building a more efficient, sustainable, and data-driven global supply chain.

Responsibilities include:

  • Own and report on core supply chain KPIs including forecast accuracy, OTIF, inventory turns, and capacity utilization
  • Build and maintain data models integrating ERP, logistics, planning, and quality data
  • Develop dashboards and self-service analytics tools using Power BI and Excel
  • Support S&OP processes with scenario modeling, analytics, and executive-ready insights
  • Analyze inventory health, safety stock levels, and lead-time variability to recommend improvements
  • Ensure data quality through governance, validation checks, and master data coordination
  • Automate reporting processes and reduce manual effort through scripting and tools
  • Conduct root cause analysis on supply chain issues such as shortages and backorders
  • Partner cross-functionally with Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance, and IT teams
  • Continuously improve analytics tools, dashboards, and reporting processes

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain analytics, planning, or operations
  • Strong Power BI skills (DAX, Power Query)
  • Advanced Excel capabilities (Power Pivot, complex formulas, or scenario modeling)
  • Experience working with ERP systems (Oracle EBS or similar)
  • Ability to translate business needs into data insights and visualizations
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
