The firm specializes in corporate finance services for mid-cap companies across the Asia Pacific and EMEA regions. Its expertise spans cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A), company valuation, fundraising, and strategic consulting.

We are seeking a result-driven Business Development Director to join our M&A advisory team in Hong KongFirm. This is a crucial, high-impact role focused purely on driving significant revenue growth through proactive deal origination, securing new client mandates, and cultivating senior-level relationships across the Greater China and Asia-Pacific markets.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in on Business Development within business / financial services sales, with native-level English communication skills required to negotiate and close complex pitch M&A advisory engagements with C-suite executives and private equity principals.

 

Business Development

  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain CRM, keep relationships with key decision-makers and intermediaries (e.g., global law firms, Consulting (firms) partners, and investment banks) to generate inbound referrals and collaborative opportunities
  • Deal Origination & Revenue Generation: Personally initiate, develop, and secure new M&A advisory leads & opportunities mandates. Be accountable for a measurable annual new business revenue target.
  • Strategic Client Coverage: Proactively identify and engage with targeted corporates, entrepreneurs, and financial sponsors who are potential M&A clients.
  • Advanced Sales Material: Design, refine, and present bespoke pitch materials, corporate presentations, and case studies (to a standard comparable to top-tier consulting and investment banks) to articulate our value proposition effectively in high-stakes settings. CRM

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience: 6+ years of marketing and/or business development and/or sales experience (preferably within business services, management consulting experience is a plus, Marketing and/communications experience is an advantageous.
  • Sales Track Record: Demonstrable success in meeting or exceeding annual sales/origination targets, specifically for complex, high-value B2B professional services mandates.
  • Corporate Finance Acumen: Broad understanding of the M&A process, valuation concepts, and the corporate finance landscape, with the ability to articulate our firm’s value proposition across various deal types. Training available.
  • Presentation & Communication: Exceptional presentation skills, particularly in developing sophisticated data storytelling in PowerPoint. Must be comfortable leading pitches and closing mandates with C-suite audiences.

 

Critical Requirement: Language & Location

Language: Native English Speaker, Immaculate written communication is required for drafting complex client proposals and leading high-level negotiations. Proficiency in Mandarin, or Cantonese/Mandarin is a plus.

Location: Based in Hong Kong with willingness for regional travel as required for mandate origination.
