Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business/Data Analyst with a strong background in Wealth Management and financial data analysis. This role requires a highly analytical professional who can work with complex financial datasets, translate business requirements into data-driven solutions, and deliver actionable insights to support investment and operational decisions.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in SQL, data profiling, reconciliation, and business analysis within wealth or asset management environments. Experience with Python and Databricks is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and profile large-scale financial datasets including portfolio holdings, transactions, returns, benchmarks, fees, and cash flows.
- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements from advisors, portfolio managers, operations, and compliance teams.
- Translate business requirements into data logic, transformation rules, and reporting specifications.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for analysis, validation, reconciliation, and reporting purposes.
- Validate ETL and data pipeline outputs to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity across systems.
- Investigate data quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
- Partner with engineering and technology teams to ensure data solutions align with business requirements.
- Support KPI reporting, AUM analysis, client segmentation, and investment performance reporting.
- Create clear documentation for data definitions, business rules, and reporting logic.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Data Analysis or Business Analysis within Wealth Management, Asset Management, or Financial Services.
- Advanced SQL expertise including joins, CTEs, window functions, aggregations, and analytical query development.
- Strong understanding of wealth management data including portfolio holdings, transactions, performance reporting, AUM, and fee structures.
- Experience with data profiling, reconciliation, validation, and data quality management.
- Hands-on experience with Python for data analysis and validation activities.
- Familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, or Azure environments is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with wealth management platforms such as Addepar, Orion, or Black Diamond.
- Exposure to custodian data feeds including Schwab, Fidelity, or Pershing.
- Knowledge of ETL processes, data pipelines, and cloud-based analytics platforms.
- CFA, CIPM, or relevant analytics/cloud certifications are a plus.
