THE ROLE:

The Branch Manager is an expert in the financial services space; passionate about leading a team to deliver outstanding service and financial advice to our members. Exhibits a team‑first mentality, leading by example, treating members and staff with respect and appreciation to strengthen relationships and foster trust, confidence and growth. As a valued Community Savings team member, this incumbent is a solution seeker, responsible for developing and maintaining the profitable growth of the branch through active business development in the branch’s community, in a way that best serves the member.

This incumbent is a leader that brings goals into focus, drives collaboration and promotes our purpose and vision. Provides comprehensive branch lending services to members for standard and complex personal loans, mortgages, lines of credit, construction mortgages, certificate of title, small business lending and specialized loans such as mobile homes.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

This position will require the following behavioral skill base:

  • Ability to supervise, motivate and develop a team of staff members
  • Change management – experienced in successfully leading groups through change
  • Multitasking, the ability to successfully manage the branch while simultaneously developing business in the community
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to provide assistance and support
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Committed to lifelong learning in the pursuit of employee wellness while staying ahead of the ever‑changing landscape of financial services, management and customer service practices and techniques

This position will require the following technical skills:

  • Two years post‑secondary education in financial management or a related field, including or supplemented by courses related to the work and considerable supervisory and administrative experience in the financial industry
  • Understanding of credit union operations including financial, lending, administrative, and other operational procedures, practices and requirements
  • Understanding of the principles, practices, methods and techniques of business development
  • Understanding of the nature, function and analysis of financial statements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Five years of senior branch management experience in a comprehensive financial institution environment
  • Two years of proven capabilities in external business development
  • Two years of retail lending experience
  • Equivalent combination of the above may be appropriate
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience

COMPENSATION & PERKS:
