The bookkeeper is responsible for downloading and posting all daily bank account transactions and properly coding the transactions for multiple companies, entering bills and drafting vendor payments, monthly bank reconciliation, monthly credit card account reconciliation, and monthly reporting for clients. The bookkeeper maintains all general ledger accounts and the chart of accounts. This position requires an extremely detail orientated person with significant knowledge of accounting, bookkeeping, and Quickbooks.  

 

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining bank feeds between various banks and their respective accounts in Quickbooks.
  • Coding transactions to the proper GL to ensure accurate accounting.
  • Maintaining rules for transactions and other methods of creating efficiencies for posting a large batch of transactions each day.  
  • Posting invoices, creating invoices, posting payments, entering client bills, making vendor payments, and categorizing deposits – weekly.
  • Bank reconciliation, ledger tie outs, journal entry postings, inter-company billing, and performing other duties to close the books each month.
  • Analyzing financial results and post information into monthly reports.
  • Managing regular preparation of relevant management reports, including monthly, quarterly and year-end reports 
  • Performing various journal entries, account reconciliations, and provides general ledger support.
  • Preparing annual budgets for clients.
  • Supporting in the administration and preparation of information for opening and closing bank accounts.
  • Attending required weekly meetings and participating by setting goals and completing assigned tasks.
  • Preparing written reports to accompany financial data.
  • Analyzing data, problems, and issues, and formulating solutions. 
  • Willing to learn new software. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or certification in accounting principles preferable.
  • Must know Quickbooks.
  • 3-5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles.

Preferred Experience:

  • Proficient at Microsoft Office Suite and specifically Excel.
  • Proficient in Quickbooks and Xero.
  • Must be well organized and a self-starter.
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable.
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, accounting principles knowledge, documentation. skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

This job is a remote job. Applicants will need to meet certain requirements for a working computer and consent to our IT department conducting an analysis of the computer for cyber safety.

Expected Work Times

This job can be done at a flexible time during the day but must be worked daily with tasks completed daily.  BK must be available during working hours for meetings and accessible by phone/text during working hours if needed.

Expected Hours

The current time allotment is 8-15 hours per week depending on monthly and quarterly reporting requirements.
