About The Role:

The AVP – Business Development (Acquiring) is responsible for driving revenue growth, market expansion, and strategic partnerships for the Acquiring business. The role leads senior sales and business development activities, manages high-value client relationships, and ensures the achievement of commercial targets across key merchant segments including SMEs, Large Corporates, and Digital/E-commerce. This role combines strategic leadership, commercial ownership, and excellence, acting as a key contributor to market positioning and long-term growth of the Acquiring portfolio

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver acquiring targets (revenue, volume, EBITDA) in line with annual business plans. · Drive acquisition of new strategic merchants and partners across priority segments.
  • Manage and grow key accounts with a focus on long-term profitability and retention.
  • Ensure strong pipeline governance and forecasting through approved CRM tools.
  • Identify and develop new market opportunities, partnerships, and channels to expand acquiring penetration.
  • Lead response to RFPs, RFIs, and complex commercial proposals in coordination with Product, Pricing, Legal, and Operations.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing dynamics to inform go-to- market strategy.
  • Support cross-sell and upsell of value-added services within the acquiring portfolio.
  • Act as executive sponsor for strategic merchants and partners. · Lead complex commercial negotiations, contract structuring, and pricing discussions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with banks, fintechs, large enterprises, and ecosystem partners. · Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (Product, Technology, Operations, Finance, Risk, Legal) to ensure seamless deal execution and onboarding. · Lead, mentor, and develop Business Development team (directly or indirectly).
  • Set clear KPIs, performance expectations, and accountability frameworks. · Support talent development, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Foster a performance-driven, ethical, and customer-centric sales culture.
  • Ensure adherence to internal governance, approval processes, and compliance standards.
  • Review commercial viability and risk considerations in collaboration with Risk and Finance teams.
  • Provide regular performance reports, forecasts, and management updates to senior leadership.
  • Ensure accurate opportunity tracking, documentation, and CRM hygiene.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10–15+ years of experience in Payments / Merchant Acquiring / Financial Services, with a strong sales and business development background.
  • Proven experience managing large enterprises, banks, fintechs, and complex sales cycles.
  • Strong understanding of payment acquiring POS, e-commerce, digital acceptance, and pricing models.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage senior stakeholder relationships. · Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in KSA market is highly preferred.
