Zurich Canada is currently looking for an Auto Pricing Actuary – Personal Lines to support the pricing process for the Personal Lines Auto business and provide analytical support and insights to the Auto Pricing team and to our business partners.
This role supports rate changes, filing, and communication aspects of the changes with internal partners. You will contribute to ongoing enhancement of pricing sophistication and risk segmentation through implementation and validation of changes in the rating platform.

Zurich follows a hybrid work model requiring three days per week of in-person presence, which may include time in the office or market-facing engagements.
What you will do
- Under general supervision, support the pricing of new business and renewal portfolios and the development of effective premium and rating structures.
- Contribute to interactions with rate regulators, internal partners, and governance on pricing-related topics, guided by senior team members.
- Support the development and maintenance of pricing models, tools, and reporting capabilities.
- Develop a solid understanding of factors impacting loss costs and premiums, and contribute to initiatives that continuously increase pricing sophistication, including the creation of new predictive models.
- Assist in monitoring portfolio performance and profitability for new and renewal business.
- Prepare and perform actuarial analyses, including trend analyses, indications, rate impact and other pricing-related studies, with appropriate review.
- Support Product and Underwriting teams by providing diverse analysis and recommendations.
- Assist in testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of pricing algorithms and tools.
- Remain informed of regulatory and market developments and incorporate learnings into pricing analyses.
- Operate within Zurich underwriting guidelines and procedures.
Job Qualifications – What you bring to the table Required
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5–7 years of experience in the Actuarial area, preferably in Personal Lines pricing
- Progress toward actuarial designation (ACAS or equivalent international certification)
Preferred
- Experience in auto pricing across one or more provinces
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to explain technical results to non-technical stakeholders
Fluency in both spoken and written English is required to facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders outside Quebec.
Zurich Canada is committed to pay equity. Compensation is determined based on objective criteria such as skills, experience, and internal equity. The salary range for this position is 108,000 – 158,000. Starting salaries may exceed this range based on a candidate’s skills and experience.
