About the Role

We're currently seeking a conversation-starter, a reputation-guarder, an idea-launcher and a team-player to join our Hong Kong Office in the Corporate & Financial Services Practice.

Associates are resourceful task managers who are counted on for tactical program execution by servicing multiple clients and handling core public relations tasks with a dynamic team. They manage the flow of work and information to the account team, and build a strong understanding of the client’s business, industry, and PR issues to become a successful communications practitioner.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support account lead to manage client relationships on a day-to-day basis and implement local and regional communication strategies and program activities in conjunction with team members
  • Monitor and track client, competitor, industry and societal news
  • Understand and build connections to key local and regional business media and be able to identify and be familiar with key trade media
  • Provide media relations support – conducting research, maintaining and building target media lists, drafting media materials, pitching to journalists, and managing media relationships and opportunities
  • Translate and develop well-written bilingual article summaries, and prepare media communication materials
  • Co-ordinate with external and internal parties to ensure the smooth execution of clients’ events
  • Conduct research via consumer, trade and/or business media as well as third party data for client-related activity and information, and draw conclusions based on findings
  • Perform general reporting and administrative duties

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent ideally in the field of PR, Communications, Marketing, Business or Journalism
  • 1-3 years of PR experience or relevant industry experience serving corporate clients, preferably at a PR agency or in-house communications team
  • Interest in, and awareness of, business and finance
  • High proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Organized to handle various ongoing work streams
  • Self-motivated team player, and keen to take ownership of tasks
  • Proactive with attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
  • Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Keen to develop your career in the PR industry
