Associate Investment Operations & Finance (Part-Time)

The principal accountabilities for the role are:
Financial Management & Administration
- Maintaining the general ledger by allocating and posting transactions to payment software and recording software.
- Processing all invoices in a timely manner.
- Answering queries regarding accounts payable & receivable issues.
- Processing call verifications for new vendors and suppliers.
- Assisting Head of Investment Operations & Finance to generate tax invoices, monthly management reports and annual financial statements.
- Assisting the Head of Investment Ops and Finance in the onboarding of external administrators and accounting software.
Cash Management
- Responsible for bank reconciliations.
- Reviewing and reconciling Weel card transactions and expense claims processed by staff members in Xero.
Tax
- Assisting Head of Investment Operations & Finance to prepare quarterly BAS and monthly IAS.
- Assisting Head of Investment Operations & Finance to coordinate and prepare annual FBT and ITR with an external tax agent.
Audit
- Assisting Head of Investment Operations & Finance to complete annual audit for corporate and investments.
Investment Operations
- Working with an external fund administrator (FA) and custodian daily basis to process payments.
- Assisting the Head of Investment Operations & Finance to review investments' unit prices, management & trustee fees and FA & custodian fees.
- Assisting the Head of Investment Operations & Finance to review investments' BAS, ITR, distribution calculations and financial statements.
- Assisting the Head of Investment Operations & Finance to liaise with auditor and tax agent.
- Liaising and communicating with investment directors continuously to collect information as required.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for someone with strong corporate accounting skills and experience who can immediately contribute to the team. The position will support Brightlight's Investment Operations & Finance Team to ensure the efficient operation of Brightlight's investments and corporate finance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Accounting, Finance and/or relevant degree
- Completing or Studying CA or CPA
Experience:
- Demonstrated experience with corporate accounting and investment operations
- Proficiency with accounting software and financial management systems
Skills:
- Strong corporate accounting and finance skills
- High level of self-motivation and the ability to work independently
- High level of attention to detail
- Highly adaptable to changing environments and situations
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner to a variety of audiences
- Ability to gather information and write reports
- Ability to plan and coordinate workload with competing priorities
- Ability to use a range of computer applications (i.e., MS Office 365 / Application literate)
Expectations:
- Part-time role, flexible
- Time and performance expectations should be discussed and agreed upon with all parties
- Manage and prioritize workflow according to deadlines and importance
- Work outside normal business hours may need to be completed, on a reasonable and periodic demand basis
- Commitment to working in a team environment
- Be aware of Risk Management and Compliance responsibilities
- Alert Brightlight if become aware of any risks to the organization
