Position Summary

The Assistant Vice President (AVP), Operations is a key leadership role responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and oversight of operational strategies that drive efficiency, scalability, and business performance. This individual works closely with senior leadership to ensure operational initiatives align with organizational goals while maintaining high standards of service delivery, process effectiveness, and resource utilization.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Management

  • Support the execution of company-wide operational strategies and initiatives.
  • Oversee day-to-day operational activities to ensure efficiency, consistency, and quality.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for process optimization.
  • Ensure operational compliance with internal standards and applicable regulations.

Process Improvement & Efficiency

  • Analyze workflows and operational processes to improve productivity and effectiveness.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance scalability and reduce operational risks.
  • Implement systems and tools that support operational excellence and data-driven decision-making.
  • Drive cost-efficiency initiatives while maintaining service quality and business objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with departments including Finance, Human Resources, Sales, Marketing, Technology, and Customer Success to support organizational goals.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination across business functions to ensure smooth execution of initiatives.
  • Assist in managing strategic projects and operational priorities across multiple teams.
  • Support change management efforts associated with new programs, systems, and business processes.

Performance Management

  • Establish and monitor key operational performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Prepare operational reports, dashboards, and performance analyses for executive leadership.
  • Track progress toward departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Recommend corrective actions and operational improvements based on performance data.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop operational managers and team members.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Assist with workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Promote employee engagement and professional growth within the operations organization.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support business continuity planning and operational resilience efforts.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and operational governance practices.

QualificationsEducation

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Management, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree (MBA or related discipline) preferred.

Experience

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in operations, business management, project management, or related leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success leading operational teams and driving process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working in high-growth, fast-paced environments preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and cross-functional projects.
