Assistant Professor Jobs in India at GIFT International Fintech Institute
GIFT IFI—an initiative by GIFTCL in partnership with Ahmedabad University, IIT Gandhinagar, and UC San Diego—is building a global hub for fintech education, applied research, and ecosystem innovation inside GIFT City.
We’re looking for early-career scholars for three year term appointments who want to work at the intersection of academia + industry + policy, with research interests across:
Fin Tech, Climate/Green Finance, Sustainable Finance, Startups, Innovation, Digital Finance, and more. Appointment is subject to renewal based on performance and mutual interest.
What you’ll do
Research & thought leadership
Publish high-quality applied research in finance/tech/entrepreneurship domains
Collaborate with faculty, regulators, and industry leaders in GIFT City
Participate in conferences, policy dialogues, and ecosystem round tables
Teaching & program development
Design and deliver advanced courses, certifications, and modules with senior faculty + industry
Potential teaching areas (amongst others):
Fin Tech & Digital Finance
Climate/Green Finance
Entrepreneurship & Startup Innovation
Financial Markets, Asset Management, Insurance, Pensions
Industry & ecosystem engagement
Work closely with banks, insurers, asset managers, pension funds, fintech, startups, regulators
Contribute to applied projects, consulting initiatives, and partnerships
Institution-building
Support new research centres, academic initiatives, and flagship programs
Help organize conferences, workshops, industry summits, executive education
Who should apply
PhD (completed or near completion) in Finance/Econ/Management/Entrepreneurship/Tech Management/AI & Computer Science (or related) from a leading institution
Strong research capabilities (quantitative/analytical/policy-oriented)
Interest in interdisciplinary work and applied impact
If you have deep fintech experience and have built and taught programmes then you are also encouraged to apply.
