Assistant Finance Manager – International Group

London (Hybrid) – 3 days in office

£65,000 – £67,500 per annum + Bonus

The Role:

As an Assistant Finance Manager, you’ll oversee day‑to‑day finance operations across several legal entities, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls, and smooth month‑end delivery. You’ll also act as the key finance lead for two subsidiaries, working closely with overseas teams, external accountants and auditors. This role suits someone who enjoys both hands‑on technical work and developing junior team members.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead daily finance operations across multiple entities (AP, payroll, bank recs)
  • Own two subsidiaries end‑to‑end from a financial control perspective
  • Deliver a timely and accurate month‑end close (journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations)
  • Review and sign off balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support group consolidation and reporting
  • Ensure intercompany transactions are recorded and reconciled
  • Manage finance processes for international subsidiaries
  • Partner with local finance teams, external accountants and auditors
  • Oversee multi‑currency accounting and FX impacts
  • Ensure consistent accounting policies across the group
  • Mentor and develop junior finance staff
  • Support internal/external audits and maintain strong internal controls
  • Drive process improvement, automation and ERP enhancements

What We’re Looking For:

  • Fully qualified accountant – ACA / ACCA / CIMA (or equivalent)
  • 2–3+ years’ experience in finance or financial control
  • Experience supervising or managing junior team members
  • Background in multi‑entity or international environments
  • Strong understanding of consolidations and intercompany accounting
  • Advanced Excel and experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Dynamics, Sage)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with global stakeholders
  • Proactive, detail‑driven and solutions‑focused
