Assistant Controller

Salary: $110,000 – $140,000 + bonus + strong benefits

Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Controller
- Support the CFO in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Review and prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and journal entries
- Assist in managing AP, AR, and payroll functions
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and compliance procedures
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements
Preferred Qualifications of the Assistant Controller
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
- 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within healthcare or nonprofit
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with month-end close, audits, and internal controls
- Ability to work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams
- Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
