The Development Analyst sits at the center of our purpose-built rental strategy, offering exposure across the full development lifecycle – from early-stage site evaluation through to delivery. As a Development Analyst you’ll work closely with a collaborative, high-performing team and gain direct visibility into how projects are shaped, evaluated, and executed. This is an opportunity for someone early in their career who is looking to build a strong foundation in real estate development, finance, and market analysis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support acquisitions efforts, including site identification, screening, and initial analysis.
- Contribute to market research and competitive analysis to inform investment decisions.
- Underwrite opportunities and build pro forma financial models.
- Track and analyze project budgets, schedules, and cash flows, including variance analysis and reporting.
- Review and synthesize planning, legal, engineering, and financial documentation to identify risks and opportunities.
- Assist in coordinating development applications (Zoning By-law Amendments, Site Plan, minor variance, building permits).
- Work with consultants, city staff, and external stakeholders throughout the approvals process.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate and up-to-date assumptions for reporting and decision-making.
- Prepare clear and concise meeting materials, including agendas and minutes.
- Monitor and summarize regulatory, political, and market trends impacting development.
- Provide support across property and asset management as needed.
- Contribute to broader team priorities and administrative needs.
Qualifications:

A strong interest in building a career in real estate development and finance.
- A proactive, self-directed approach with a willingness to take ownership.
- Comfort working in a lean team environment with exposure to senior leadership.
- Clear and direct communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong financial modeling capabilities and understanding of core financial concepts.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Analytical thinking with a practical, solutions-oriented mindset.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- University degree in planning, engineering, architecture, or business/finance with a real estate focus.
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience within the residential real estate development industry.
- Experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or corporate finance will also be considered.
Work Schedule
:
This is a full-time, in-office position. Employees are expected to work onsite Monday through Friday during regular business hours.

This role primarily involves seated work and computer use, with periodic standing and walking throughout the workday. - Communication:

Regular use of hands and fingers for tasks such as keyboarding, operating office equipment, handling materials, and reaching for items. - Posture and positioning:

Occasionally lift and/or move items up to 10 pounds. - Vision:
Must be able to perform work requiring close vision, distance vision, and depth perception, such as reading screens/documents and navigating the work environment.
Salary Range
Placement within this compensation range will be determined by the candidate’s knowledge, experience and skills.
$74,380.00 – $This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on company performance and individual contribution as well as an attractive benefit and wellness package.
