Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Walnut Creek, California. In this role, you will manage crucial aspects of vendor invoice processing, payment execution, and account reconciliation. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone with a strong background in financial operations and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
– Review and verify vendor invoices to ensure accuracy and alignment with purchase orders and delivery receipts.
– Process invoices by matching, batching, coding, and entering them into the accounting system.
– Schedule and execute payments while maintaining compliance with agreed-upon terms.
– Perform bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate.
– Prepare and post journal entries to document debts, credits, and other transactions.
– Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledger with the general ledger to maintain accurate financial reporting.
– Utilize Quick Books Enterprise for processing and tracking financial transactions.
– Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth operations.
– Maintain organized records of all accounts payable activities for audit and compliance purposes. Requirements
– Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a related financial role.
– Proficiency in Quick Books Enterprise or similar accounting software.
– Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and payment scheduling.
– Experience with bank and credit card reconciliations.
– Ability to prepare and post journal entries accurately.
– Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
– Strong communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams.
– Familiarity with financial reporting and account reconciliation procedures.
