Followmont Transport is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead our AP team at our Eagle Farm Head Office. This role oversees the full AP function, ensuring accurate, timely processing and strong relationships with stakeholders, vendors, subcontractors and agents.
We’re looking for a detail‑focused leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and delivers high‑quality work.
About the Role
You will manage daily AP operations, ensuring invoices, expenses and payments are processed efficiently and on time. You will coach and support the AP team, maintain strong internal controls, and act as the AP systems SME to drive accuracy, efficiency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
- Lead, mentor and support the AP team
- Provide ongoing coaching and development
- Promote accountability and continuous improvement
- Align team performance with broader Finance objectives
Accounts Payable Operations
- Oversee weekly and monthly invoice processing and vendor payments
- Manage subcontractor and agent payments
- Maintain accurate vendor master data and monthly reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with procurement and accounting policies
- Manage freight‑related accruals
- Act as SME for AP systems including Ezescan and support efficiency improvements
Stakeholder Service
- Build strong internal and external relationships
- Respond promptly and professionally to enquiries
- Resolve escalated vendor issues in line with service standards
Reporting and Projects
- Prepare AP reports and monthly KPIs
- Support AP‑related projects and process improvements
- Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated AP leadership in high‑volume environments (transport/FMCG/manufacturing/warehousing preferred)
- Strong leadership and coaching capability
- High accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Confident IT capability, especially Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem‑solving skills
- Process‑driven mindset with a focus on improvement
- Finance or Accounting qualification (highly regarded)
