Hacksaw Studios is a company that builds online games. Our games can be played both in social gaming and real money modes. We have wide distribution, and our games are played by millions of people every month by players all over the world.
We are currently looking to expand our team with an Accounts & Treasury Officer who will support the day-to-day finance operations of the Romanian entity, with a strong focus on accounts payable processing, payments, and bank reconciliations. The role works closely with the Malta finance team and acts as the local point of contact for external accountants and auditors, ensuring accurate, timely, and well-controlled financial processing.

Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Post supplier and other bills in the accounting software accurately and on a timely basis.
- Follow up with relevant stakeholders to obtain timely approval of bills prior to payment.
- Ensure bills are correctly coded, supported, and compliant with internal approval policies.
Payments & Treasury
- Assist with the preparation of payment runs, ensuring accuracy of beneficiary details, amounts, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare payments for review and release in line with internal approval and banking protocols.
- Reconcile bank accounts on a daily basis, promptly identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Stakeholder & Team Support
- Provide ongoing support to the Malta finance team, including ad hoc tasks and requests as needed.
- Liaise on a monthly basis with external accountants to support local statutory bookkeeping and reporting requirements.
- Liaise with external and internal auditors, providing documentation and explanations to support audit requests.
- Contribute to maintaining strong financial controls and accurate records for the Romanian entity.
- Exposure to international group finance operations and cross-border collaboration with the Malta team.
Required skills and experience:
- 4–5 years of experience in a similar accounting or finance role (accounts payable, payments, and reconciliations), ideally within a multi-country or multi-entity company.
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CECCAR or equivalent Romanian credential), or a degree in accounting/finance with equivalent practical experience.
- Solid, up-to-date knowledge of Romanian accounting, tax, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Hands-on experience posting supplier invoices, preparing payment runs, and performing bank reconciliations in accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly with beneficiary details, coding, and supporting documentation.
- Understanding of internal approval and financial control policies, and the discipline to apply them consistently.
- Comfortable liaising with external accountants and auditors, providing clear documentation and explanations on request.
- Well organised, able to manage recurring deadlines (daily reconciliations, monthly close) while handling ad hoc requests.
- Able to work autonomously on the Romanian entity's day-to-day finances while collaborating closely with the Malta finance team.
- Good command of English (working language across the Hacksaw group) for cross-border collaboration.
- Proactive, reliable, and comfortable operating as the local finance point of contact in a growing studio.
