Role Overview
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Accounting Technician to support and execute core accounting operations. This role is integral to maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring compliance, and enabling efficient reporting processes within a dynamic, service-driven environment.
Compensation: $26–$30 per hour (commensurate with experience)
Key Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial records
Prepare and issue client invoices, monitor collections, and follow up on outstanding balances
Assist with payroll processing, employee expense reimbursements, and statutory deductions
Analysis of AR aging and follow-up on outstanding balances and General Ledger reconciliations
Experience with intercompany transactions and reconciliations and Preparation of weekly cash flow forecasts for the management team
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and financial reporting
Maintain and organize financial documentation in compliance with Canadian accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Assist in preparing financial statements, financial presentations, internal reports, and audit documentation
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure proper financial tracking of projects and operational expenses
Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within accounting operations
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Minimum 2+ years of experience within a Canadian service-based organization
Strong understanding of Canadian accounting principles, payroll processes, and compliance standards
Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Quick Books, Sage, or equivalent ERP systems
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with Zoho Books is an asset.
