Role Overview

The senior associate will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting, reporting, and compliance services across a portfolio of startup and SME clients. The role will involve working across multiple client engagements and supporting the financial operations of growing businesses. Our clients value the quality of our advice, which stems from strong relationships and a deep understanding of their businesses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts for client businesses
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
  • Support statutory accounts preparation and year‑end processes
  • Assist with tax compliance, including corporation tax and VAT
  • Perform financial analysis to support client decision‑making
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Work closely with senior management on advisory projects
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
  • Contribute to strategic growth, coach junior staff, and support business development and commercial performance

Requirements

  • Strong experience in financial reporting and management accounts
  • Strong working knowledge of UK and international reporting standards (including UK GAAP and UK‑adopted IFRS), related financial reporting requirements, and tax requirements
  • Experience working with SME clients or in a professional services environment
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • IT literate, ideally with some experience of accounting packages and very good Excel spreadsheet skills.
  • Previous experience in preparing and reviewing statutory accounts.
  • Business development experience – able to contribute to the identification and conversion of opportunities into services.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Highly professional attitude to providing a quality service, working on challenging assignments in a deadline‑driven environment
  • Self‑motivated with strong communication skills (written and oral) and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in changing client environments.
