Position: Accountant – 3 Month
Our health care sector client is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to manage corporate accounting, reporting, and compliance activities, with a focus on trust funds and regulatory filings. This role reports to the Manager of Accounting & Administration and is in office 5 days a week downtown Hamilton
Key Responsibilities of this Accountant are:
This Accountant will be responsible for the following:
– Maintain general ledger, perform reconciliations, and conduct financial analysis
– Prepare monthly corporate reports
– Manage HST, RST (trust funds), insurance premium tax, and EHT filings
– Oversee T2 corporate and T3 trust tax returns
– Process AML / KYC documentation
– Complete GST 494 filings
– Ensure compliance with CRA and regulatory requirements
– Support audits, budgeting, and special project
Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance; CPA (or in progress) preferred
– 3+ years of experience in corporate accounting and tax compliance (trust fund / financial services experience is an asset)
– Strong knowledge of Canadian tax regulations (HST, RST, EHT, T2, T3, GST
494)
– Familiarity with AML / KYC processes
– Proficient in accounting software and Excel
– Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
