Our client is a design consultancy. They seek an Accountant to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Administer accounts payable workflows, including vendor disbursements, banking activity, card transactions, and account reconciliations
- Oversee timekeeping systems, managing user access, monitoring hours, and initiating, updating, and closing project records
- Compile and record journal entries while contributing to month-end and year-end closing activities
- Safeguard petty cash balances and related documentation
- Generate internal financial reporting and analytical summaries as needed
- Process incoming bank deposits and related transaction records
- Contribute to year-end reporting cycles, financial statement audits, and various special initiatives
- Facilitate HR onboarding and offboarding workflows
- Establish new banking relationships and coordinate account setup procedures
- Collaborate with project managers to support invoicing accuracy and timely billing activities
Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Public or private experience
- Open to industry
- Experience with reconciliations, month-end close, AR, and AP is preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail-oriented and highly analytical
- Excel experience is required
